At its heart sits a smart technology hybrid controller that can transition seamlessly between solar energy or mains power. When the sun is shining, the pump’s power needs are met by the nearby solar panels. If it gets cloudy then the system can automatically switch – in part or entirely – to mains electricity; a smart technology power-sharing arrangement that keeps your pump operational round the clock, and for a much lower cost.
For example, if your pump is set to work at 600 Watts capacity but only 520 Watts can be solar-generated at a particular period of the day, then the remaining 80W is drawn from the mains power automatically. For you it’s a ‘no worries’ situation. You just pre-set and forget!
The Solflow system also takes into account the fact that the sun rises and sets at different times in varying regions of the Territory. You simply set a start time and finish time for solar energy so the controller knows when to start looking for solar power early in the day and when to turn off at day’s end.
